Ensure a rich, balanced and compelling curriculum to engage and inspire all pupils 5. Every teacher a confident teacher of SEND to ensure best possible outcomes for all children

  7. ‘Ready’ to learn • A labelled water bottle • A labelled jumper /cardigan • Reading book and diary every day • Full PE kit every day • Pencil case with equipment • A labelled coat in the wet weather Encourage your child to develop their independence

Homework and Reading English - Spellings and English will be given out on a Monday – return Thursday Learn spelling rule for the week plus any individual tricky words Maths -Thursday return on a Monday A Maths task – problem solving /times tables How much time should my child spend on their homework?

Homework and Reading • Reading • The teacher or the TA will aim to hear every child at least once a fortnight • Whole class guided reading • Other adults may hear your child read (such as volunteer parent readers) • Children reading additionally outside of school is crucial How much should I read with my child?

  10. PE and Games • Outdoor Games / PE on a Thursday • PE kits should include: -jogging bottoms -shorts -a house coloured t-shirt -jumper -trainers • Shoulder length hair should be tied up on PE days / ear rings removed

Maths is all around us… Place value, number bonds, times tables, fluency, counting on and backwards, 5 and 6 digit numbers, problem solving Tables – recite multiplication tables facts wherever you are! Being able to recite the table forwards and backwards, answer random questions and give division facts up to 12 x 12 will help your child greatly

  12. More Maths Support • Maths No Problem books available online should you want to support your child at home
