  2. Why? • Graduation is upon us • Join an elite group of health coaching professionals

  3. Application Process • Must be submitted within 24 months of your graduation date • Normal processing time is 60-90 days after close of process • Twice a year-March 15 and September 15 • Post marked at least 1 day before deadline dates • Mail with tracing to insure delivery

  4. Application Process • Fee is $250.00 US Funds • Know your HC# - Your class number • Print clearly • Fill out all sections and sign it • Attach all appropriate documents • Send in original • Keep copy for your records

My Signature Acknowledges • HealthCoachTraining Code of Ethics • Communicate and validate my qualifications meet or exceed requirements • Have no adverse legal actions as a coach or my coaching business • Release any individual from any previous bond of confidentiality (not to state that a “coaching relationship” exists)

  7. My Signature Acknowledges • HCT may change or modify the rules governing certification and has the power to revoke any certification • Abide by the decision of the Review Committee • Permission for HCT to verify my experience and documentation

  8. My Signature Acknowledges • Agree to honor the rules and regulations of the certification process • Review Committee may use my application materials with discretion for training • The application fee ($250 US Funds) is non-refundable

  9. Documentation • Minimum 40 hours of live Core Curriculum Classroom training in 12 months • Certificate of Completion • Minimum of 60 paid coaching hours with at least 10 clients, coached a minimum of 4 months each • Client Coaching Log • No immediate family members • No HCT students or graduates • 60 minute actual coaching hour or interactive communication through web portal • 1 Group hour = 1 Coaching hour

  10. Documentation Example #1 • 1-on-1 coaching • 3 sessions x 30 minutes per month = 1 ½ hours • When coached for 4 months, 1 ½ x 4 = 6 coaching hours • When having 10 clients (which is the minimum) you have your 60 hours • You can have as many clients as it takes, who have been coached for at least 4 months, to make your 60 hours

  11. Documentation Example #2 • Group coaching • 2 sessions x 60 minutes per month = 2 hours • When coached for 4 months, 2 x 4 = 8 coaching hours per group

Coaching Hours • Individuals • Up to 5 clients may barter for services • Groups • No more than 15 clients per group • 1 group hour = 1 client coaching hour • each group is considered as one paying client regardless of how many clients are in the group • Corporate • Web-based using HCU • Interactive communication through HCU

  13. Documentation for Coaching Log • Each Client’s name or Group Name or Corporate Name and number of participants in each group • Phone and Email for each Individual Client or for One Representative of the Group or for the Key Person of the Corporation • Start Date and End Date • Total Paid Coaching Hours or Proof of equivalent barter for individual client and/or communication hours spent through HCU chat, journal, email

  14. Coaching Reference Letters • 3 client letters of reference • Dated within 12 months of application date • Clearly state the coach’s support • Have been coached for compensation/barter • Written on client’s stationary or emailed directly from clients email address

  15. Examination • You will be contacted to schedule the exam by Certification Administrator • 2 –part exam • Part 1 – 30 questions • Open-book examination • Demonstrates mastery of coaching skills • Administered via email by the Certification Administrator • Have 48 hours to complete and return • Part 2 – 30 minute oral • A Coaching Session with the Certification Administer on a real issue in a live session

  16. Evaluation Demonstration of • knowledge of the Coaching Core Competencies • Ability to apply the Core Competencies in your coaching
