This analysis draws on responses from 442 HR professionals regarding trends in employee monitoring. Conducted between September 29 and October 5, 2006, the survey revealed a 19% response rate from 2,556 emails sent. The results show that organizations are increasingly monitoring employee activities, including the use of cameras, GPS tracking, and updates on internet usage policies. With a margin of error of ±0.5%, the findings prompt a discussion on whether HR professionals should play a role in determining monitoring levels within their organizations.
