  2. Lord Hanuman is worshipped by those who wish to gain strength and courage in their lives. Son of Anjani, he is born fearless; the one who swallowed the Sun. He is also famously known as Bajrangbali. Lord Hanuman is one of the most celebrated and esteemed idols in Hindu mythology. Every year, Hanuman Ji’s Birthday is celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy among his devotees.

  4. When is Hanuman Jayanti2021? According to the Hindu calendar, every year Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the ChaitraShuklaPurnima. It falls in March or April. Hanuman Jayanti 2021 date will be celebrated on 27th April.

  5. 1. Pawanputra- the incarnation of Lord Shiva Hanuman is also known as Pawanputra. He is said to be the incarnation of Lord Shiva. He is truly the exemplification of strength, courage, devotion and patience. His birth story dates back to a time when her mother Anjana was cursed by a sage. She was a damsel (Apsara) in the court of the Gods. At the presence of every God, a sage came and cursed her that the moment she will fell in love, her face will transform into a monkey.

  6. Thereupon, Lord Brahma helped her and she took the birth on earth. Soon, Anjana fell in love with the monkey king named Kesari and eventually got married. She was an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and prayed before him without any miss. Lord Shiva was pleased with her devotion and asked her wish. She wished Lord Shiva to be her son to be free from the curse. Her wish was granted.

  7. A few days later, King Dasaratha was performing a yagna to obtain sons. The sage gave the king a sweet dish called Kheer to divide equally among the queens. A portion ofKheer from her eldest wife was snatched away by a small kite and it flew where Anjana was in deep meditation. Lord Shiva gave the signal to Lord of the wind (Vayu/ Pawana) to keep that in Anjana’s hand. When she opened her eyes and found the kheer; she thought it was Lord Shiva’s parsad and ate it. She thus gave birth to Pawan Putra Hanuman – the incarnation of Lord Shiva and the son of Lord Vayu. Lord Hanuman holds the power to omit any difficulty and obstacle from your life.   8. 2. Hanuman Jayanti 2021 – the real meaning of the name Hanuman The name is made of two words, Hanu+ Man. It is derived from Sanskrit where Hanu means jaw and Man means disfigured. There is an interesting story behind Lord Hanuman’s disfigured jaw. In his childhood, Hanuman thought Sun to be a ripened Mango and flew to eat it and swallowed the whole Sun. Lord Indra used his Vajra on him and Hanuman fell on earth making his jaw disfigured forever

  9. 3. Lord Hanuman was Bharamchari but still had a Son Lord Hanuman burned the entire Lanka with his tail and flew off to the sea. He dipped his body in the sea to calm it down. It is said that in this process of cooling down sweat dripped from this body and was swallowed by a Makard (crocodile-like giant fish). That mighty fish then conceived Makardhwaja, the son of Lord Hanuman.

  10. 4. The innocent Hanuman applied Vermilion (Sindoor) all over his body Lord Hanuman was one of a kind God. He was extremely devoted to Lord Rama. There was a particular incident that depicted his innocence as well as his devotion to him. Once, Sita was applying Sindoor over his forehead. Hanuman got very curious and asked her why she is doing this act. She told him that she is the wife and companion of Rama and this application shows her love and devotion towards him. Lord Hanuman smeared the sindoor over his entire body and presented himself before Rama. Lord Rama was so impressed with this gesture. He gave a boon that whosoever will apply sindoor to Lord Hanuman idol will see all difficulties going away.

  11. 5. 108 names of Lord Hanuman Lord Hanuman is probably the God who has so many names. In the Sanskrit language, there are 108 names dedicated to Lord Hanuman. 6. Hanuman rejected a present from Goddess Sita Goddess Sita once gave Hanuman a beautiful pearl necklace. Hanuman refused it politely citing that he will never entertain anything devoid of Lord Rama. He said he is made up of Lord Rama and his every drop of blood has Rama’s name. To prove it, Lord Hanuman ripped off his chest and showed the picture of Rama and Sita underlying the skin.   12. 7. Lord Ram and his death sentence to Hanuman This incident took place when Lord Rama became the king. He was in his court and as soon as it was adjourned; Narada came. He tried to create disharmony between Lord Ram and Hanuman. He told Hanuman to greet all the sages in the court except Vishwamitraas he was a king once. Hanuman did the same and Vishwamitra was not at all affected by this act.

  13. Naradabeing Narada, went on to instigate Vishwamitra and did it so well that he ordered Rama to punish Hanuman to death. He was Lord Rama’s guru (teacher). So, Rama couldn’t say no and ordered Hanuman to be punished by the arrows. On the next day, the punishment was to be given but it was so surprising that none of the arrows affected Hanuman. He kept on chanting Rama’s name. Rama had to abide by the orders of his guru, so he decided to use the Brahmastra. To everyone’s wonder, this too went unaffected. Seeing this, Narada went to Vishwamitra and confessed his mistake. Viswamitra then stopped this incident.
