  4. Need to Agree • Pronouns and Antecedents need to agree in form of singular or plural 1) Determine if antecedent is singular or plural 2) Then decide on a singular or plural pronoun to match

  10. More Examples! If anyone has a legitimate reason for not attending, (he, they) should speak to the secretary. Correct answer: he Anyone is an indefinite pronoun, which are singular pronouns. Therefore, we need a matching singular pronoun.
