  3. BULGARIA Inspite of its relatively small territory (110993 km2), the country has various landscape. The scenery changes subsequently from vast plains, to hilly areas and high mountains. Large beaches and beautiful rocky shores stretchout along the Black sea coast.

HIGHER SCHOOL ”COLLEGE OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND POST” The College of Telecommunications and Post is a state owned public college, accredited and recognized by the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency. The College was established in 1881as a State School of Telegraph and Post. Since may 2007 the College offers BACHELOR degree programmes.

Bachelor degree programmes • The College of Telecommunications and Post offers BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES in the • following fields: • Telecommunication Informatics; • Telecommunication Technologies; • Telecommication Networks • Wireless Communications and Broadcasting; • Management and Informatics of Telecommunications and Posts.

  7. HIGHER SCHOOL ”COLLEGE OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND POST” At the moment College of Telecommunications and Post has 75 lecturers and 48 members of technical and administration staff. In January 2011 there were about 1000 students. Lectures and seminars take place in the College’s classrooms and laboratory exercisesin the college’s laboratories.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION • The College has signed bilateral agreements for students and staff exchange mobility within the LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAMME with: • Universidad Politecnica de Valencia – Valencia – Spain; • Deutsche Telecom, Hochschule – Leipzig – Germany; • SzechenyiIstvan University – Gyor – Hungary; • University of Zilina – Zilina – Slovakia; • University of Sciences and Technologies at Lille - ENIC telecom – Lille – France, • University of Pardubice - Czech Republic, • Kaunas College - Kaunas - Lithuania, • Technical University of Riga - Riga - Latvia.

  10. The BulgarianTelecommunications Association(ASTEL) was founded on April 10th., 2002 as a non-profit, non-governmental organization. It's members are already 50 reputable legal and natural persons: • Recognized public telecommunications operators; • International and local manufactures and suppliers of communication equipment; • Legal and telecom consultants; • IT and Internet businesses; • The Sofia University "St. KlimentOhridski”; • Technical Universitiy of Sofia ; • New Bulgarian University; • The University of National and World Economy; • The College of Telecommunications and Post. • The Telecommunications Association’s target is to combine efforts, strengths and potentials of as many as possible participants at the Bulgarian telecommunications market.
