  2. What am I showing You? • In this presentation you will learn about the different types of customers, as well as an example of a customer service situation.

  3. Customer Service Wordle

  4. Dialog • This example of customer service dialog comes from me standing in line with my mom to return a fan that didn’t work that we bought from walmart.

  5. Dialog • Worker: Hello. Welcome to Wal-Mart. What can I assist you with today? • Mom: Hi. I’m sorry to bother you but I bought this fan here last week and it doesn’t work. Can I please get a refund? • Worker: What was the problem with the fan? • Mom: When I plugged in the fan and tured it on, the blades don’t spin.

  6. Dialog (continued) • Worker: Did you try plugging it into a different outlet? • Mom: Yes, I tried three outlets. It just doesn’t seem to work. • Worker: Alright. Do you have a recipt? • Mom: Yes, right here. • Worker starts to take it and look it up in the computer.

  7. Continued • Mom: thank you for helping me today! • Worker: No problem. Everything seems to be in order. Here is your money back. • Mom: Thank You! Have a nice day! • Worker: You too!

  8. Types of Customers • Argumentative • Impatient • Leave-me-alone • Irritable/moody • Insulting • Complaining • Domineering/superior • Suspicious • Slow/Methodical • Dishonest

  9. Reflection Everything in this situation went well. My mom was very kind to the worker and the worker gave her no grief. We received a refund and then proceeded to go and get a different fan from Wal-Mart. So just by having the worker use good customer service, he helped Wal-Mart and gave them more business.

  10. Reflection (Continued) • In the opposite way, by being peasant to the return worker, my mom was able to receive her money back. So as you can see, not being one of the difficult types of customers has benefits for both the worker and the customer.

  11. To conclude • In this PowerPoint, I have shown you all the different types of customers, a wordle, and a customer service example.
