  3. AgVantage Dictionary • Batch – A group of entries – could be AP, AR, Inventory, GL, etc • Edit – A report that is generated showing totals of all the entries into a batch • Merge – To permanently post entries to the General Ledger

  4. AgVantage Dictionary • Fine Line Code – a numeric code assigned to every item in your dataset to assist with grouping of similar items • Spool file – the area where all reports go to print once they are generated – could release automatically, some need intervention

AgVantage Dictionary • PTF – Program Temporary Fix – how enhancements and fixes create code changes within the software • Client Access – Software that is loaded on a PC to allow access to the software and your data • Host on Demand – Similar to Client Access, with more remote setup capabilities

AgVantage Dictionary • iSeries – aka AS400, Power 6, etc…the server on which AgVantage Software runs • A.S.P. – Application Service Provider – where your data is stored on our iSeries and is housed in our office • Query – A reporting software which allows the user to create custom reports or research data for specific information

AgVantage Dictionary • C.D.D. – Customer Driven Development – process thru which our Users drive the development of our software • Master Files – within each software package (AR, Inventory, AP, PR) etc, the file that contains setup questions which dictate how you would like the software to operate

Print File Management • Access to Spool File via different means • On Command line, type GO ASSIST and take option 1 to Work with Printer Output OR • Press your Escape (ESC) key, and take option 1 to Work with Printer Output OR • On a Command line, type WRKSPLF – this command takes you right to the Spool File Output Screen

  14. User Messages • Access User Messages via different means • On a command line, type GO ASSIST and take option 3 Work with Messages OR • Press your Escape (ESC) key, and take option 3 Work with Message OR • On a command line, type WRKMSG which will take you right to your message screen

User Messages • Two types of Messages • Messages Needing a Reply – Program or Procedure will need a reply in order to continue processing • Messages Not Needing a Reply – Informational only – and when Messages Needing a Reply are answered, they automatically move to the Messages Not Needing a Reply section

  17. System Messages • Generally a more urgent nature, such as files too small, program or procedure errors, system status messages • These types of messages should be answered carefully, and with solid knowledge of the preferred answer to prevent data issues

  18. System Messages • To access System Messages, follow the instructions of accessing your User Messages, and when you get to that screen, press the F6 key to view SYSOPR (System Operator) messages • Put a 5 on the message to display further details and get reply options

  21. Support Call Processes • Call into our 24/7/365 Support Center by calling 877-282-6353 • During regular business hours, the call will be answered by our dispatcher who will direct your call to the proper staff for response in the order in which the call was received

Support Call Process • Be prepared to pass along as much information on what assistance you need; if you have an error message or have a question on a procedure or setup question or if your data isn’t what you expected it to be • You will be given a call number with the proper priority based on your need, keep that number for future reference

Support Call Process • If you have an error, the more information you can pass along, helps the support representative assist you quicker, follow the instructions to extract additional message information, do print screens of the screens and fax to our office at 507-288-7525 and note a call number (if you have one) on the fax to help the dispatcher attach the fax to your call
