  1. STUDY IT FOR YOURSELF! Have the attitude of the Bereans… … take what you are taught and search the Scriptures each day to see if what was taught is what the Word of God says [Acts 17:11]!

  2. Part Nine: LIVING as a Living SACRIFICE! Living as a FIRSTFRUIT!

  3. The purpose of this study series is to explore things that human eyes cannot observe without Divine help.

  4. Upon This ROCK • All Scripture is GOD-BREATHED and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; [2 Timothy 3:16]

  5. A PrincipleofLIVING as aLIVINGSACRIFICE!

  6. Joshua 6:18-19 • [18] “But as for you, only KEEP YOURSELVES FROM the things UNDER the BAN, lest you COVET them and TAKE SOME of the things • UNDER the BAN, so you would make the camp of Israel accursed and bring trouble on it.” lestyou COVET them and TAKE SOME of the things UNDERthe BAN,

  7. Joshua 6:18-19 • [19] “BUT ALL the silver and gold and articles of bronze and iron are HOLY TO THE LORD; they shall go into the treasury of the LORD."

  11. Notice the Result –Joshua 7:10-12 • [10] So the LORD said to Joshua, “Rise up! Why is it that you have fallen on your face? • [11] “Israel HASSINNED, and THEYHAVE also TRANSGRESSED My COVENANT which I COMMANDED them. …”

  12. [11] “… And they have even TAKEN some of the things UNDER the BAN and HAVEBOTHSTOLEN and DECEIVED. • Moreover, they have also put them among their own things.”

  13. [12] “THEREFORE…. I WILL NOTBEWITH YOU ANYMORE • UNLESS you DESTROYthethingsUNDERtheBAN from your midst.”

  14. In Malachi 3:8-9, God said, • [8] “WILL a man ROBGOD? • Yet you ARE ROBBING ME! • But you say, ‘How have we robbed Thee?’ • In tithes and offerings. • [9] “YouARE CURSED… for you are robbing Me….

  15. A Question to Ponder • What Does God OWN? • The answer is the FOUNDATION for LIVING as a LIVING-SACRIFICE!

  16. Colossians 1:16 • ForBY HIMALL THINGS were CREATED, • both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible… • … ALL THINGS have been CREATEDBYHIM and FORHIM.

  17. EVERYTHING BELONGS to God – Psalm 24:1 Psalm 24:1 • The EARTHIS the LORD’S, • and ALLit CONTAINS, • The WORLD, • and THOSEwho dwell in it.

  18. EVERYTHING BELONGS to God – Leviticus 25:23 • “The LAND, moreover, shall not be sold permanently, • for the LAND IS MINE; • for you are but aliens and sojourners with Me.”

  19. EVERYTHING BELONGS to God – Psalm 50:10-12, 14 • [10] “For EVERY beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills. • [11] “I know EVERY bird of the mountains, • And EVERYTHING that moves in the field is Mine.”

  20. [12] “If I were hungry, I would not tell you; • For the WORLD IS MINE, and ALL it contains. • [14] “OFFER to God a SACRIFICE of THANKSGIVING, • And PAY YOUR VOWS to the Most High;

  21. UNTIL you UNDERSTANDWho the OWNERIS • You will NEVER BE ABLE to LIVE as a LIVING-SACRIFICE.

  22. Living as aFIRSTFRUIT! – aparchē [G536] That which is OFFERED to God!

  23. Leviticus 23:10 • “Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them, • ‘When you enter the land which I am going to give to you and reap its harvest, then you shall bring in the sheaf of the FIRSTFRUITS of your harvest to the priest.’”

  24. 1 Corinthians 15:20 • BUTNOW Christ has been RAISED from the DEAD, • the FIRSTFRUIT(S) of those who are asleep.

  25. Colossians 1:18 • He is also head of the body, thechurch; and He is thebeginning, • the FIRST-BORN from the DEAD; • SO THAT He Himself might COMETOHAVEFIRSTPLACEINEVERYTHING.

  26. Exodus 13:2 • “SANCTIFYTOME every first-born, the first offspring of every womb among the sons of Israel, both of manandbeast; • IT BELONGS TO ME.”

  27. 2 Corinthians 8:5 • and (this), not as we had expected, • but they FIRSTGAVETHEMSELVESTOTHELORD • and to us by the will of God.

  28. Consider the FIRSTFRUIT(S) –Romans 8:23 • … we ourselves, HAVING the FIRSTFRUIT(S)of the SPIRIT, • we ourselves GROAN within ourselves,WAITING EAGERLY for our ADOPTION as sons, the REDEMPTION of our BODY. • we ourselves GROAN within ourselves, • the REDEMPTION of our BODY.

  29. FIRSTFRUIT(S)of the SPIRIT • SEALED by the GIVING of the HOLYSPIRIT • Whom God gives as a PROMISE and a PLEDGE – 2 Cor 1:22; 5:5; Eph 1:13; • Therefore, DO NOT GRIEVE the Holy Spirit [Eph 4:30]!

  30. James 1:12-18 • [12] Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for ONCE HE HAS BEEN APPROVED, • HE WILL RECEIVE THE CROWN OF LIFE, • which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

  31. [13] Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; • for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. • [14] But each one is tempted when he is carried away and ENTICED by his OWNLUST. (Achan)
