    2. Scouting Program Introduction Built on the theme that the program should be fun to keep boys interested Four basic aims/goals Character Building Citizenship – Community, Nation, World Personal Fitness – Physical, Mental, Moral Leadership Training

Scouting Program Introduction Aims and goals accomplished via Use of outdoor experience Organization of the troop Advancement program Ideals of Scouting stated in the Scout Oath, Law, Slogan and Motto Each Scout is encouraged to strive for these ideals and must understand them to begin his advancement program

General Goals of Troop 110 Operate Troop 110 true to the purpose of Scouting Provide a Scouting program that is fun and challenging through: Weekly meetings that are interesting, activity oriented and planned and run by the boys Monthly outdoor activities that stimulate, challenge and educate every Scout in the troop An annual one week summer camp that is adequately staffed by adult leaders An annual high adventure outing for older Scouts (example: Philmont, Sea Base, Northern Tier, etc)

General Goals of Troop 110 Offer an advancement program including regular merit badge classes for all Troop members and regularly recognize achievement Have a boy-planned and boy-run troop program with appropriate adult guidance Create a Leadership Development Program to provide personal growth for each Scout and to ensure continuity of leadership for the Troop

    6. General Goals of Troop 110 Adult leadership and guidance is needed for the benefit of the boy’s scouting experience. Troop 110 promotes adult involvement in: Continuing adult Leadership Training Active adult involvement in the Troop Committee Active adult involvement in our BSA Westark Area Council

Troop 110 Organization All Scouts form the Scout Troop Troop is divided into groups of boys called patrols Patrols elect patrol leaders Patrol leaders are members of Patrol Leader’s Council (PLC) PLC is lead by the Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) who is elected by all Scouts in the Troop PLC plans and implements all Troop activities Adult leaders are present only as advisors The PLC meets in December and plans the activities for the upcoming year The activities are approved by the Troop Committee which meets the second Monday of each month. The Troop Committee consists of registered parents.

    8. Troop Organization cont. Registered Parents are always welcome to join the Troop activities and a minimum number of adults are required on each campout or activity Large Troop such as ours needs many adult volunteers to keep the program running Parents can make a big difference in the happiness and success of their sons in Scouting

Troop 110 Calendar of Events Troop 110 is extremely active, planning two events, a camping or outdoor activity and a service or fund raising activity each month Occasionally we throw in an extra fun activity The Troop attends District and Council Camporees which feature inter-troop competitions.
