Quick Background • Grew out of OMB requirement to report federal aviation • costs and hours (OMB Circular A-126) • System is on it’s third stage of development • System is web-based via GSA Homepage (www.gsa.gov) … • ‘Policy’ … ‘Aircraft Management’ … Reporting on Government • Aircraft’ … ‘FAIRS’ • Current application designed by the Idaho National Laboratory • with collaboration from agency user’s and stakeholder’s • Application has embedded training capability for all user’s • Contains modules for entering data for all Federal (owned) • aircraft as well as data for aircraft leased, rented, and chartered • (Commercial Air Services), query tool and user account info • Contains ‘Batch’ upload (spreadsheet) • Automatic electronic messaging capability • Inventory of over 1500 owned aircraft • Agencies are required to report their data quarterly • GSA reports the status of the Federal Aircraft program to OMB • annually

What Happens to FAIRS When the Bubble Bursts ? • Short Term … INL will maintain control over application • until GSA contacts them (Region Three will assume control • for all GSA Central Office functions) • Agencies will be told via the ‘FAIRS’ ‘What’s New’ page the • status of GSA Central Office functionality and an estimated • date of return • Long Term … When functionality of Central Office returns • FAIRS Program Manager will reassume control of the system Questions
