  1. 4 Things You Can Do To Avoid the Flu If everyone around you is ill and is catching the sniffles, it’s time you take proactive measures to avoid the flu. The task may seem daunting at first since you’ll probably find infectious germs practically everywhere you go: subway stations, classrooms, offices – you name it. However, the key here is to boost your immune system so that it is able to put up a tough fight even if all of your friends are busy sneezing away. Here are some awesome things you can do to avoid the flu: Keep Your Surroundings Clean Now, we don’t want to be a buzzkill, but the first step to avoiding the flu is to keep your surroundings clean, especially if your colleagues or friends are ill. You don’t have to be disrespectful, but avoid sharing candy bowls and sanitize your desks and doorknobs. Being hyper-vigilant will prevent you from taking too many sick leaves. Pay attention to germs wherever you go and avoid crowded places during the flu season. Make sure your work desk is clean and that your coffee mug has been washed properly. If you work out at the gym, stay clear from sweaty towels, old sneakers, and germy mats. If you want to sit on a bench or mat, place a clean towel over it first. Also, before you start working out, clean the handles of equipment with antibacterial wipes and avoid sharing stuff with your gym mates.

  2. Wash Your Hands Multiple Times a Day While you may not be able to avoid handshakes, you can wash your hands multiple times a day. Use an anti-bacterial hand wash to ensure your hands are squeaky clean. It doesn’t matter if you’re using cold or hot water, what’s important here is that you scrub your hands thoroughly. To completely get rid of germs and viruses, you need to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds or so. Make sure to get plenty of soap between your fingers and under your nails. Additionally, avoid biting your nails or touching your face. The very act of passing someone a pen can get you sick. Avoid Close Contact with Sick People Did you know that doctors tend to be very cautious about handshaking? Well, they have good reason to be. If you want to avoid the flu, you’ll have to avoid close contact with people who are sick. A simple hello or a friendly wave will get the job done. Don’t worry, people will understand. It’s also important that you reciprocate the same behavior when you’re ill to prevent others from getting sick. You’ll basically be returning the favor. Include More Protein in Your Diet A low-protein diet can deplete or weaken the immune system. Start your day with protein-rich foods such as eggs and yogurts. You’ll not only feel more upbeat after a great breakfast but will also stand a better chance of fighting away germs and illnesses. Consuming a more protein-rich diet is also a good idea if you’re trying to build muscle or want to build strength. These above-mentioned tips will help you avoid the flu. And don’t forget Cold-Fix!
