Who Am I? • I am a forest, I am trees, I am leaves, I am the sum of all my parts… • I am a deciduous forestland with an over story made up of 20-30 m tall trees, an under story of 5-10 m trees and shrubs, a shrub layer around 1-2 m high, and a ground layer of herbaceous plants.
Where In the World…??? • Found between polar and tropic regions in the mid-latitudes • For those of us who do not speak in latitudes, that means places such as Eastern United States, Canada, Europe, China, Japan
My Average Climate • Because of its location, it experiences fours seasons • Temperatures range from -30° C to 30° C, but my average temperature is 0° C. My temperatures are not usually very extreme, thus “temperate”, but my temperature can get below freezing during the winter, • Average precipitation is between 750-1500mm per year • I am the second most rainy biome, after the RAINforest
