It has a heavy coat made of many layers of fur to deal with the winter cold. Black bears have long claws that help them to climb trees. • Eastern Chipmunk-Chipmunks live in forests and edges of forests and are also found around suburban and rural areas. It has a home range of up to 1/2 acre, but will only defend an area about 50 feet around their dens. They like to rest during the day and are only active in the morning and late afternoon. • Coyote- Coyotes can live almost anywhere. They now live in most of North America and Central America, from Alaska to Nova Scotia and Panama. They even live in the suburbs of large cities. People have even blamed them for eating their pets.
