  2. DEFINITION • KEEPING ALL CREW MEMBERS ON THE SAME SHEET OF MUSIC—NO GUESSING WHAT THE OTHER IS DOING

  3. COMMUNICATE POSITIVELY • SPEAK CLEARLY, PLAINLY, AND IN TERMS ALL CREWMEMBERS CAN UNDERSTAND WHEN IT IS APPROPRIATE TO SPEAK.

  4. DIRECT ASSISTANCE • DO WHAT YOU CAN, BUT DON’T TRY TO DO EVERYTHING BY YOURSELF.

  5. ANNOUNCE ACTIONS • ANNOUNCE ANY ACTION YOU TAKE THAT WOULD AFFECT COMMUNICATION, NAVIGATION, FLIGHT OR SAFETY OF THE AIRCRAFT.

  6. OFFER ASSISTANCE • DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE SITUATION ENDANGERS YOUR LIFE—ASK.

  7. ACKNOWLEDGE ACTIONS • LET CREWMEMBERS KNOW THAT YOU HEARD THEM OR SEE WHAT THEY’RE DOING. (CAN BE NON-VERBAL—I.E. THUMBS UP)

  8. BE EXPLICIT • GIVE CREWMEMBERS THE NECESSARY INFORMATION IN TERMS THAT THEY CAN UNDERSTAND AND NOT MISINTERPRET

  9. PROVIDE AIRCRAFT CONTROL AND OBSTACLE ADVISORIES • THIS IS THE INSTRUMENT TWO CHALLENGE RULE

  10. CONTROL SEQUENCE AND TIMING OF ALL ACTIONS IN THE COCKPIT • PRIORITIZE TASKS • ARE THE NAVAIDS TUNED FOR THE APPROACH, OR ARE WE BUSY WITH ATIS WHILE ON BASE LEG FOR THE APPROACH? • ARE WE BUSY WITH THE FUEL CHECK WHEN PREPARING TO ENTER HOLDING?
