HADITH

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Prophet (PBUH) passed by a woman who was crying over a grave and said, "Fear Allah and be patient.'' She said, "Away from me! My calamity has not befallen you and you are not aware of it.'' The woman was later told that it was the Prophet (PBUH) (who had advised her). She came to his door where she found no doorkeeper. She said, "(I am sorry) I did not know you.'' Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Patience is (becoming) only at the first (stroke) of grief".

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. Another narration in Muslim says: The woman was crying over her son.

Bringing Subhanallah in our life!(in addition to the ‘shirk’ aspect)

Propagate the message that Allah is free from any defects or deficiencies.

O Allah! Help me accept whatever is beyond my control (as a test for me).

Focus on the fact that whatever Allah does is perfect. The conditions are a test and some of them may be due to human errors.

How many times did I complain about my color, features, family, weather, prevailing situation around me, etc.

Ask 7 things from Allah; An excellent way to take a break between Sajdahs instead of rushing for the second.

Can you remember the order?

  • First thing is that You forgive me,
  • then I need Your mercy, and
  • for the life remaining, guide me
  • To walk upon the guidance, strengthen me
  • Protect me all along
  • Provide me everything, as I continue
  • And in the end, raise my rank
