  2. About the 3rd. AGE Forum 3rd Arab-Greek Economic Forum: “Fostering business alliances to tap emerging opportunities” The 3rd Arab-Greek Economic Forum is organized jointly by the Arab Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Development &SEV Hellenic Federation of Enterprises and aiming to strengthen the presence of Greek business in the Arab markets and to attract new investments from the region. Enhancing economic, investment and commercial relations between Greece and the Arab world may allow Greek companies to overcome recession and to rebound from current crisis reaching new growth rates. Notwithstanding the international economic downturn, the Arab countries maintain their development path thanks to vast energy resources, to various infrastructure projects underway and to considerable capitals they possess. The Forum will provide a unique platform to Greek firms to direct their investment and trade activities from western Mediterranean to the Gulf markets and to explore all opportunities in the fields of environment and green economy, energy and renewable, constructions and materials, IT, transportation, tourism, financing. At the same time, it will seek to rebrand Greece as a destination of Arab investment funds and to introduce dynamic Greek enterprises as prominent partners in South-East Europe. Heads of States, Ministers and officials are expected to honor the event with their presence and to confirm their keen interest to advance their partnership with Greece through enhanced bilateral relations at all levels. H.E. The President of the Hellenic Republic Mr. Karolos Papoulias has been invited to inaugurate the opening and H.E. The Prime Minister Mr. George Papandreou to address the Arab and the Greek business communities with a key-note speech. More than 300 Arab businessmen and executives will attend the event to hold prescheduled individual meetings (B2B) with Greek companies and to explore all possibilities abounding for synergies. In parallel, an “Arab-Greek Business Village” will be set up for companies, Sponsors, Organizations and Institutions to promote and lobby for projects and services. Participation is free of charge. Parallel Events Arab Greek Business Village Friday, September 24th, 2010 The main purpose of the Forum is to bring together companies from Greece and the 22 participating Arab countries in one place and through individual contacts and meetings to discuss and explore any possibilities for new partnerships and collaborations. Further to B2B meetings which will be organized throughout the two days of the Forum, the Arab Greek Business Village will offer additional opportunities for promoting products and services. The Village will be set up in two sections. In one section (Aristotelis Hall) sponsors and Organizations will set their stand to receive guests and to promote their activities. The other section (Aphrodite Hall) will function as a “fair ground” where companies will avail a booth to display samples of their products and hold private meetings with other parties. Saturday, September 25th, 2010 The dynamism of Greek tourism and culture: The Arab delegates will be offered a unique visit to Acropolis, the most historic and famous archaeological site of Greece, where they will be have a tour to The Propylaean, the Temple of Athene Nike, the Parthenon, the Erechtheion. The tour will also include a visit to the new "Acropolis Museum", one of the most important museum in the world, which displaces some of the masterpieces of ancient Greek art dedicated to the most significant sanctuary of Athens, that of Athena Polias and of the Parthenon. Then our guests will indulge themselves with the enchanting atmosphere of Tourkolimano, the most popular spot of Piraeus port, a place of long history laying back to the glorious days of the Athenian golden Era, where they will have a lunch in a typical Greek restaurant to taste the Mediterranean cuisine.
