  1. Global Distribution System

  2. What is Global Distribution System? • GDS is a worldwide "Global Distribution System" computerized reservation network used as a single point of access for cooperative airline seats, hotel rooms, rental cars, and other travel related items by travel agents, and huge company. The global companies which provide global distribution systems are Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre, and Worldspan. FlightsLogicowned and operated as joint ventures by great airlines, car rental companies, and hotel groups also called automated reservation system (ARS) or computerized reservation system (CRS). • Global distribution systems haven't only made the lives of travel agencies easier, but it's also helped them to capture more business and reaching out even more to their potential clients. Due to the multiple benefits that are offered by these systems, they're mostly used by travel agencies. • These systems have greatly changed the way the travel agencies have started operating, that's because the factor of specificity has been included and the travel agencies know when, where and how to offer their services to a large pool of different clients at once. • This also helps them save time. It has also helped to maximize the number of bookings of their customers which also indirectly helps the travel agencies to generate more revenues. These systems aren't only beneficial to the travel agencies but also to the hotels. That's because it helps them to attract more customers.

  3. How does GDS work? • Even if you have never heard about the Global Distribution System or GDS term, you likely used the GDS at least once for your travel bookings. • The GDS covers all the information of availability, inventory rates, and offers in real-time of hotel rooms, airlines, car rentals, bus tickets, and many other travel services. They're centralized in web service with global reservation functionality and a high-unified process. • Travel agents and travelers will access data through the GDS platform to test the availability, compare various options, and finally schedule their tour or complete a reservation within minutes. By including all travel services is required on one platform, GDS prevents the inconvenience and latency of booking each service separately. Especially for travel agents, GDS also give reminders of special deal rates, limited sale, or promotion packages for their higher incentive. • Each GDS network will be developed with a different set of information segmentation, rates, connection, sign up requirements, depending on the demand of the provider.

  4. Why Is GDS So Important For Travel Management Companies? • The best deals & time-saving- Travel management companies can save costs by comparing prices of flights, hotels, car rentals, and other related services. Furthermore, GDS helps organize employee travel through reservations – bundling discounts and offers from various suppliers in one place.  • GDS makes it possible for travel management companies to carry out their daily tasks without having to contact different organizations individually, thus saving time and money.  • Information accessible real-time- GDS is essential for travel management companies because it offers them access to a wide range of travel data in real-time, which they need to run their business effectively.

  5. FlightsLogic can easily make airline, car, and hotel reservations for their employees, within a few minutes, at the most competitive prices possible. • Travel trends & insights- GDS allows travel managers to keep tabs on the performance of their overall business. This is done by tracking the cost of travel and other key data points such as the number of trips taken and the amount of employee feedback.  • GDS also permits managers to keep tabs on changes in policy or industry trends, which can give them an edge over their competition.
