  2. Starting Locally • Hunger is a problem in Arlington due to the expensive cost of living • Many of these people have “food insecurity” • Address the needs of your neighbors is the first step to stopping global hunger.

  3. Volunteering at AFAC • I consistently volunteered at AFAC for a year • Tasks: collecting food, sorting food, distributing food • I mainly participated in sorting and distributing the food at the warehouse

  4. Sorting Each day we sorted through the donations such as separating rotten fruit from edible fruit which we would place on crates to be distributed

  5. Distributing Volunteers would take turns distributing foods at different stations, such as the bread station or the milk station Families would be allotted certain amounts of foods based on the size of the family
