  1. Bunsen Burner Simple steps for using a Bunsen burner In a laboratory.

  2. Equipment needed • A lighter • Safety goggles • The objet that you want to heat (burn).

  3. Step 1 • First- Make sure the Bunsen burner is away from any overhead shelving etc. at least 30 cm away. • Also remove flammable things from area. If you have long hair, tie it back.

  4. Step 2 • Check if the hose and pipes aren’t leaking. • Tell that you’re using the Bunsen burner to other people in the Laboratory.

  5. Step 4 • Turn the gas on. Have a lighter ready • Light it. • Adjust the flame by using the air control, to control the air flow for the flame

  6. Security • Don’t leave the flame unattended at any time. • Turn it off if not in use by turning the gas off.
