Objective of Lunch and Learn • The objective of today’s Lunch and Learn session is to provide mapping partners with information about: • FEMA’s strategy for decommissioning the DFIRM Tools • Migrating projects out of the Tools • One available alternative option – FMD9 • If you know of other tools available, please let us know so we can incorporate into additional Lunch and Learn sessions • Additional sessions will be scheduled monthly through July 2010 • Anyone interested is welcome to attend! 5

Update on the Decommissioning • Created a new, single point on MIP Web site called Latest News on the Decommissioning of FEMA’s DFIRM Tools under News and Highlights • One-stop shop for information through decommissioning • Linked to the Risk MAP Program Portal • Contains latest background and resources including: • Label-EZ font file and legal disclaimer • Template DFIRM layout • Symbols (DHS logo, title block, panel mask) • FEMA symbology files • Sent e-mail to DFIRM Tools users today (March 22) 6

Update on the Decommissioning • JTX jobs status update: • 305 jobs scheduled to go effective after July 31, 2010 • 76 can be deleted • 29 are ready to be migrated to alternative tools • 4 new jobs were started • CDS will begin closing jobs marked “not active” starting in April • Jobs can be closed before then by contacting MIP Help • Per PTS contractors, no new LOMR jobs should be opened using DFIRM Tools 7

Update on the Decommissioning • User Guidance • Before exporting data from the DFIRM Tools: • Reconcile and post child jobs to the parent job • Run DFIRM Tools Data Reviewer to check for errors: • Topology • Attribution • Review exported data to ensure that it is complete and spatially correct • Single features exploded into multiple features • Check annotation: • Placement • Symbology 8
