ACTIVITIES via SYNERGY • Through education activities: • Develop joint education programs in the field of energy • Organize students’ internships in Russian and Norwegian enterprises and institutions • Develop common PhD and Post Doc programs (with institutions and companies) • Through research activities: • Cooperate with world leading universities and scientific centers as well as international organizations and enterprises in the field of energy • Assistance in problem statements elaboration • Execution of common research projects in cooperation with industry and on behalf of Industry • Through enterprise cooperation: • Contribute to matchmaking between Norwegian and Russian enterprises • Advising public and private companies and agencies in the energy sector • Through dissemination of obtained knowledge: • Conferences and seminars • Research publications • Web-portal and links to other communicators • Recruiting new project partners SYNERGY THROUGH INTERACTION BETWEEN: Education Research and Industry

NAREC : Norwegian- Russian Education and Research Consortium for International Business Development in the field of Energy www.narec.no • Goal: To unite leading academic institutions in Norway and Russia to develop new knowledge through education and research projects in cooperation between academic institutions and enterprises in both countries in the field of energy. • Two main knowledge hubs: The High North Centre at University of Nordland (Norway) • The MIEP at MGIMO-University (Moscow, Russia) • Tasks: • Trough hubs: activating relevant national and international networks • Developing and coordinating new research and education projects • Secure relevance of projects for authorities and industries • Providing organization for multidisciplinary research and education projects/programs • Cooperation between: Academic Institutions, Enterprises and Academic Institutions, Enterprises and other industry related organizations • Securing NAREC activities and results • Advisory Board • Academic Chair • User Forum for Energy Industry • to establish close cooperation with leading Russian and Norwegian institutions • to share and discuss challenges exist for cooperation in the energy field; • to get updates about experiences and projects’ results reached through interaction between science and business in the energy sector • to know about study programs’ types and effect on Norwegian - Russian cooperation in energy sector • to get access to Master students, PhD Fellows and alumni
