Gitchi Gummi Soccer Club. Brief History. Gitchi Gummi Soccer Club was founded in 1991 By Greg Cane, Nic Bacigalupo , Shelley Hedtke , Alex Giuliani, and others.  They wanted to form teams from around the Duluth area that were capable of playing at the top level in the state.

Brief History • Gitchi Gummi Soccer Club was founded in 1991 • By Greg Cane, NicBacigalupo, Shelley Hedtke, Alex Giuliani, and others.  • They wanted to form teams from around the Duluth area that were capable of playing at the top level in the state.  • Players from all of the local recreational clubs were invited to tryout.

  3. Gitchi Gummi Mission Statement "Gitchi Gummi Soccer Club strives to be the Northland's premier youth soccer program, driven to educate players and coaches about the game of soccer. The Club aspires to develop players capable of competing at the highest level of play. Throughout this process we aim to teach understanding, sportsmanship and the skills of soccer.”

  4. Gitchi Gummi’s Vision Field Premier or C1 teams at all upper levels. Provide developmental opportunities to all levels Retain all players U9-U12. Retain all C1 and C2 players U13 and above. Educate coaches. Develop the Club as the soccer brand in the region.

More GGSC Info • Gitchi Gummi Soccer Club is the Northland's oldest and most respected competitive youth soccer organization. • It is made up of professional coaches and supporters who offer the youth of our region an opportunity to experience soccer at all levels - from developmental stages to Division One, and maybe beyond. 

  12. Long Term Goal – Indoor Training Facilities • Gitch Soccer is looking for a long term solution for an indoor training facility and entities to partner with in this vision. • Do you have any ideas which will help us achieve this goal?

  13. Lil Kickers & Gitchi Juniors • Player development for younger athletes who can’t play on a team yet. They complete 6 weeks of fun, skill building opportunities in the summer. • The Lil Kickers program is for ages 4-6 years old • Gitchi Juniors is for ages 7-10 years old Registration and more information can be found on the website – www.gitchisoccer.com
