Up to Date Death and wounded Statistics • As of November 3, 2011 there were 3,480 Americans killed in action and a total of 4,408 deaths in Operation Iraqi Freedom, which was from March 2003 to August 2010 • As of November 3, 2011 there have been 36 U.S. soldiers killed in action and a total of 64 deaths in Operation New Dawn, which is from September 2010 to present • There were 31,921 soldiers wounded in action in Operation Iraqi Freedom as of November 3, 2011 • There have been 303 soldiers wounded in action in Operation New Dawn as of November 3, 2011 www.defense.gov/news/casualty.pdf

  4. Number of Iraqi Civilians killed • There have been between 103,260 and 112,831 Iraqi Civilians killed in the war • In 2006 (the year with the most civilian deaths) there were26,645 deaths • In 2011 there were a estimated 4,161 civilian deaths

  5. Abu Gharib • Abu Gharib is a prison known for torture • Prisoners where tortured and killed within this prison • There where other things done to prisoners but I would not like to mention them • These acts where committed by US Army military police

  6. Troops timetable to leave Iraq • All combat troops where out of Iraq by August 31, 2010 • A transition force of 35000-50000 troops would stay • All troops would be out of Iraq by the end of 2011
