  3. U.S. military: 2 American pilots die in Iraq BAGHDAD - The U.S. military says two American pilots have died in a helicopter crash in Iraq. A military statement says the two pilots were killed on Sunday, during a "hard landing" in the Salahuddin province north of Baghdad.

Aged 24, from north London. Part of the 16th Air Assault Brigade, based in Colchester. Killed near Al Amarah, 24 June 2003. • Major Matthew Bacon - Aged 34, from London. Killed by a roadside bomb in Basra, 11 September 2005. He was serving with the Headquarters Multi National Division South East Staff MND (SE).Major Stephen Alexis Ballard - Royal MarinesDied of natural causes, 30th March 2003.Private Craig Barber - 2nd Battalion The Royal WelshAged 20. From Ogmore Vale. Shot and killed while driving a Warrior vehicle in a night operation in Al Fursi district of Basra City. 6 August 2007. • Sergeant Duane Barnwood - 903 Expeditionary Wing Aged 41, from Carterton. Killed during a rocket attack on his base at Basra, 29 February 2008.
