  9. Iggy Pig Saves the Day by Kevin Tormino

  10. It was feeding time in the barnyard. Farmer Deb fed the pigs. But then, BRRING! The phone rang. Deb ran inside the house to get it. The animals waited and waited.

  11. They were getting impatient. What was taking Farmer Deb so long to return? “BAA, BAA,” said the very angry sheep. “MOO! MOO! MOO!” said the furious cows, stomping their feet.

  12. The animals were all mad and very hungry. Iggy Pig decided to find Farmer Deb. He ran to her house to snoop around. First, he looked through the window.

  13. Then he looked in the kitchen. Where was Farmer Deb? What would make Farmer Deb come outside? Iggy wondered. Then he had an idea.

  14. “HELP! HELP!” Iggy yelled. “Come right away.” Farmer Deb looked out the front door. She wondered what the emergency cry was for. What could be the problem?

  15. “MOO! BAA!” the animals shouted together. “We demand that you feed us. That’s an order!” Deb dropped the phone and ran outside. She knew the animals wouldn’t wait another minute.

  16. Soon the animals were all munching happily. Later, the cows said to Iggy. “We sincerely thank you. We really mean it! MOO!”

  17. CLICK, CLACK, MOOCOWS THAT TYPEDOREEN CRONIN

  18. Farmer Brown has a problem. His cows like to type. All day long he hears… Click, clack, MOO. Click, clack, MOO. Clickety, clack, MOO.

  19. At first he couldn’t believe his ears. Cows that type? Impossible! Click, clack, MOO. Click, clack, MOO. Clickety, clack, MOO.

  20. Then, he couldn’t believe his eyes. Dear Farmer Brown, The barn is very cold at night. We’d like some electric blankets. Sincerely, The Cows

  21. It was bad enough the cows had found the old typewriter in the barn, now they wanted electric blankets! “No Way,” said Farmer Brown. “No electric blankets!”

  22. So the cows went on strike. They left a note on the barn door. Sorry, We’re closed. No milk today.

  23. The next day, he got another note: Dear Farmer Brown, The hens are cold too. They’d like electric blankets. Sincerely, The Cows

  24. The cows were growing impatient with the farmer. They left a new note on the barn door. Closed. No milk. No eggs.

  25. “NO EGGS!” cried Farmer Brown. In the background he heard them. Click, clack, moo. Click, clack, moo. Clickety, clack, moo.

  26. “Cows that type. Hens on strike! Whoever heard of such a thing? How can I run a farm with no milk and no eggs!” Farmer Brown was furious.

  27. Farmer Brown got out his own typewriter. Dear Cows and Hens: There will be no electric blankets. You are cows and hens. I demand milk and eggs. Sincerely, Farmer Brown

  28. Duck was a neutral party, so he brought the ultimatum to the cows. The cows held an emergency meeting. All the animals gathered around the barn to snoop, but none of them could understand Moo.

  29. All night long, Farmer Brown waited for an answer. Duck knocked on the door early the next morning. He handed Farmer Brown a note:

  30. Dear Farmer Brown, We will exchange our typewriter for electric blankets. Leave them outside the barn door and we will send Duck over with the typewriter. Sincerely, The Cows

  31. Farmer Brown decided this was a good deal. He left the blankets next to the barn door and waited for Duck to come with the typewriter.

  32. The next morning he got a note: Dear Farmer Brown, The pond is quite boring. We’d like a diving board. Sincerely, The Ducks

  33. Click, clack, quack. Click, clack, quack. Clickety, clack, quack.
