  7. Disadvantages of the Old System • Heavy and cumbersome by senior year • Only permitted storage of hard copy documentation of materials • Employers were requesting materials prior to interviews • Employers wanted to review materials after the interview • Costly to mail

Challenges Faced at Messiah College • New Learning Management System (LMS) being considered • Lack of IT knowledge r/t new LMS • Limited IT knowledge of nursing faculty • Phasing in of a new nursing curriculum • Accrediting body (CCNE) of the Nursing Program is in the process of changing accrediting standards

  12. Developing a matrix is a process • Expect it to be iterative • You likely won’t get it perfect the first time • The Matrix is the foundation of the portfolio…the place where all of the information resides. • Worth doing very carefully
