The Spanish riding school • The Spanish Riding School is the oldest riding academy of the world .Some of the tricks are CourbetteLevade , Capriole and the Piaffe. • Lipizzaner is the only breed of horse that is used in the Spanish riding school! The Stallions are used for performance and the Mares are used for breeding. The normal colour of the Lipizzaner is white .
The Flag! • The Austrian flag is the second oldest flag in use after the Danish flag.The national flag of Austria was adopted in 1230 The colours of the Austria flag were inspired from a legend about Duke Leopold IV of Austria. He fought in battle during the Crusades and he was badlyinjured, full of blood but under his belt the clothing beneath waswhitewith not a drop of blood. Today it says these two colours means peace and honesty for the people of Austria.
Skiing! Skiing is a very popular sport in Austria as a part of the Alps goes through it. The part of the Alps that is in Austria is in a place called Kitzbuhel.
Austria's History Austria was first occupied by the Celtic Tribes until it was conquered by the Roman Empire . With the fall of the Roman Empire the region was once again ruled by local tribes . The region became known as Austria in 976 when ruled by Leopold of Babenberg . Before world war 1,Austria and Hungary became one country named Austria-Hungary. After the war they became separate countries again.
