  1. Insert an Image & “Animate” It • Click Toolbox if Formatting Palette is not open. • From Formatting Palette. Click Object Palette: • Click on Clipart: • Drag and drop image here. • Resize & turn with the green button. • Click image. Click add Effect: • Try an entrance, emphasis, or exit.

  2. Insert a Chart! Click Insert Chart box. (Second option below). Chose a style. Excel will open. Change some data. Notice how your chart changes too.

  3. Insert Music! Music must be in .mp3 format & always in the same folder as the PowerPoint! Drag song here! Have it start Automatically. Then, in Formatting Palette, change to play ACROSS SLIDES. To do this, click on the speaker icon, then on to bring up options.

  4. Record Your Voice! • Insert - Sound & Music • Record Sound

  5. Insert a Quote and Cite • In Safari, go to : news.google.com. Find a story that interests you. • Quickly find a quote. • Copy and paste the quote in the text box below. Use quotation marks. • Parenthetically cite the quote. Use the author of the article. If no author, put the title of the article in “quotes.” Make sure the period is at the very end. Ex: "I believe school uniforms would reduce the number of incidents caused by fighting or any kind of violence” (Smith).

  6. Save Your Works Cited • In Safari, File - New Tab. Go to easybib.com. • Default is website. • Copy & paste address from webpage in easybib. Click: • Double-check to make sure that ALL THE CONTENT is accurate, especially: author, date published, and titles. Remove unnecessary information. Click: • Click: • Review your new Works Cited page. Show me this when you are finished.

  7. Check out Print! (But don’t really print) • Go to File – Print • Print What: • Slides • Handouts • Notes • Outline • Cancel

  8. Transitions! • Click on the TRANSITIONS toolbar box. • Try a couple different ones. • Click on OPTIONS. THIS is where you choose to flip slides automatically or by the click of the mouse. • Apply transitions to ALL SLIDES.

  9. Test Your Knowledge • Choose a new Slide Theme. • Change the Slide Layout to a Two Content Slide • Copy a picture from the internet into the slide. • Make a picture your background.

  10. Extra Credit! Record a Narration. • You will be recording yourself and timings for your show. • Go to Slide Show - Record Narration. • Click Record.

  11. Play it! On Top Toolbar: View – Slide Show OR Click on Icon above:
