  4. Noelia Honduras Cause of Death: Stabbed 14 times Date of Death: December 17, 2008

  5. Unidentified Transsexual Gebze, Turkey Cause of Death: Shot twice in the chest Date of Death: December 19, 2008

  6. Unidentified Milan, Italy Cause of Death: Head Injury Date of Death: December 24, 2008 Hunters found the body of a 50 year old man dressed in woman’s clothes. She was killed by a violent blow to the head.

  7. Taysia Elzy Indianapolis, Indiana Cause of Death: Gunshot Date of Death: December 26, 2008 Age: 34 Taysia was shot, along with her boyfriend, by Christopher Conwell. It is believed that both were killed because of Taysia’s trans status. They were found dead in their apartment.

Cynthia Nicole Comayaguela, Honduras Cause of Death: Gunshots Date of Death: January 9, 2009 Age: 35 News sources believe that the killing may have been a result of her human rights work, particularly in defense of the transgender community. She was shot 3 times in the chest and once in the head by three unknown men in a blue car.

Ebru Soykan Istanbul, Turkey Cause of Death: Stabbed Date of Death: March 10, 2009 Age: 28 Ebru had asked for protection from the man who had beaten her on several occasions and threatened to kill her. Police detained the man for two hours a few weeks prior to her death. Afterward, he was taken into custody as the murder suspect.
