  2. Wildlife Veterinarians and Environmental Scientists share similar occupations, but have slightly different areas of focus. However, each occupation’s focus has a direct effect on the other and therefore, the literature involved with each occupation is very similar.

  3. Content • Environmental Science text books include objective information and researched materials • Environmental Science blogs include opinionated and researched materials • Wild life veterinary case studies include informative and factual materials • Wild life blogs include personal experience and opinionated materials

  4. Rhetorical Strategies • Environmental Science text books aim to inform and define • Environmental Blogs are explanative and narrative • Wildlife Veterinary Case studies are academic reports, and the main rhetorical appeal is logos • Wildlife Veterinary Blogs are narrative

  5. Organization • Environmental Science text books just list information in order. In each chapter they talk about topics like air, water, geology, economics, environmental policy, etc. • Environmental Science blogs have the title in big bold letters then gives information out in a listed order. • Wildlife veterinary case studies start out with the title History, then goes into section called Discussion • Wildlife veterinary blogs are organized chronologically, in paragraphs, by the events in their day or the steps they took in their journey to becoming a veterinarian

  6. Tone • Environmental science text books are very academic and serious • Environmental science blogs are light and informative • Wildlife veterinary case studies are academic and serious • Wildlife veterinary blogs are very relaxed and easy going

  7. Diction • Environmental Science Textbooks use formal language • Environmental Science Blogs are informal and conversational • Veterinary Case Studies are grammatically correct, detailed, and formal with advanced medical terminology. • Veterinary Blogs is informal and conversational

  8. Medium • Environmental Science Textbooks’ genre is presented through print medium • Environmental Science Blogs are from web medium • Veterinary Case Studies were found online • Veterinary Blogs also were found online

Similarities Similarities between Environmental text book and case studies: factual, informative, actual events and studies in an objective fashion, give researched information and aid in the understanding of core material for the members of each occupation, use grammatically correct and formal language to express scientific information, and the tone of each genre is similar as they are both academic and serious.

  10. Differences Difference between Environmental text book and case study: Atextbook can be considered different from a case study because it covers a much broader spectrum of material. The design of a textbook is divided into chapters and sections that break down information. It also has visuals that enhance the learning experience and reinforces concepts. The case study has a more simple design that consists of paragraphs and images to illustrate the case being presented

  11. Similarities Similarities between the blogs: opinionated and have a narrative structure that have a beginning, middle, and end to them, they were informal and conversational. The blogs shared stories of their daily procedures and new discoveries.

  12. Difference Difference between the environmental science and wildlife veterinarian blogs is their organization. The environmental science blog included a news article followed by the author’s opinion. The wildlife veterinarian blog was organized as a story with events in chronological order.

The literature of each genre often gets shared between the two because they complement each other • Everything an Environmental scientist studies has an effect on wildlife. • Wildlife Veterinarians have more focus on the medical aspects of wild animals, their literature does not cover as much subject material as Environmental Science does
