The Principles • Know and understand what constitutes a healthy lifestyle; • Being aware of safety issues; • Understanding what makes for good relationships with others; • Having respect for others; Being independent and responsible members of the school community; • Being positive and active members of a democratic society; • Developing self-confidence and self-esteem, and making informed choices regarding personal and social issues; • Developing good relationships with other members of the school and the wider community

  3. The options • Kayaking • Canoeing • High ropes • Traversing/climbing wall • Archery • Raft building • All students will take part in orienteering, a short walk and team building activities.

  4. Need to know • Wednesday 25th June • Meet at school at 0720! • Coach to Upton Warren • First session: 0900-1100 • Second session: 1100-1300 • Restricted to 12 students per activity (some activities will run 2 sessions) • Return to school by coach by end of school.

  5. Clothes • Not a fashion parade! • Tracksuit bottoms or old trousers – not jeans • T-shirt or long sleeved shirt • Sweatshirt or old jumper • Fleece top • Warm socks • Old trainers / wetsuit boots • Waterproof jacket (cagoule style) • Waterproof trousers • Bin bags for wet gear • Complete change of clothes including underwear and shoes • Towel

Other info • The sessions will be split into bands. • Please indicate 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice for activities (you will be doing one of these). • Sessions will be allocated on a first come, first served after 16th May. • All students will be completing orienteering and team games. • Consent forms, choices and £10 to DH by Friday 16th May.

Other info • Usual cost is £18 per session plus transport • We have managed to agree £10 including transport. • You must arrive on time (0720) – the buses cannot wait for you! • Medicines – inhalers & epipens • Packed lunch & drink – no onsite facility • Valuables & Jewellery – not needed (but a watch is a good idea)
