  2. Below are some examples of US money, both coins and paper money.The following Math Lab uses US coins to solve problems with circles.

  3. US money has been around since the mid 1600’s when our country was first established. We used English, Spanish, and French monies. The Massachusetts Bay Colony first issued paper money which would later help form the United States.

  4. US coins have been around since the 1650’s. These coins below were first minted in New England in 1652.

  5. 1) Which coin has the smallest radius? How long is that coin’s radius?2) What is the circumference of a nickel?3) What is the area of a quarter?4) Which coin has a greater area, a dollar or half dollar?
