  21. SELECTION CRITERIA, MIX OF PARTICIPANTS • TARGET GROUP WILL BE PREDOMINANTLY OUT OF SCHOOL YOUTH, PRIMARILY UNEMPLOYED • THE MATERIAL WOULD BEST BE PRESENTED IN SANDWICH- ie NOT INTERNATINALISATON OF SUCH BY WEEKLY BREAKS EMPOWERMENT AND PARTICIPATION

SELECTION CRITERIA, MIX OF PARTICIPANTS • TARGET GROUP WILL BE PREDOMINANTLY OUT OF SCHOOL YOUTH, PRIMARILY UNEMPLOYED • THE MATERIAL WOULD BEST BE PRESENTED IN SANDWICH- ie INTERNATINALISATON OF SUCH BY WEEKLY BREAKS • THIS WOULD MEAN FIVE GROUPS OF 10 TO 16 WOULD BE SITTING AT VARIOUS COURSES EMPOWERMENT AND PARTICIPATION

  23. RESOURCES • COMPUTERS AND COMPUTER ACCESSORIES • NETWORKING • OFFICES • LABORATORIES • PRESENTATION EQUIPMENT- TELEVISION SETS, DVD/VCR, PROJECTORS • FURNITURE • CORE STAFF EMPOWERMENT AND PARTICIPATION

  24. TARGET AREA • SHOULD BE SET UP AT A PILOT SITE PREFERABLY PERI URBAN FOR MONITORING AND EVALUATION • CURRENTLY THERE ARE 14 DISTRICTS AND SUB-DISTRICTS • IDEALLY THE PROJECT SHOULD BE INCLINED TO RURAL AREAS SINCE THEY DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO INTERNET CAFES EMPOWERMENT AND PARTICIPATION

  25. COLLABORATION • BOTSWANA NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL AND ITS AFFILIATES • MINISTRY OF LABOUR- DEPARTMENT OF CULTURE AND YOUTH • MINISTRY OF EDUCATION • MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT- SOCIAL WELFARE DIVISION • MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATION, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY EMPOWERMENT AND PARTICIPATION

  26. FACILITIES OPTIONS • BE GIVEN LAND - A CENTRE NEEDS TO BE CONSTRUCTED • FOR A START UP A SCHOOL COULD BE USED • WORK IN COLLABORATION WITH DISTRICT COUNCILS WHEREBY THEY PROVIDE BUILDING • START WITH 20 COMPUTERS • NEED 5 ROOMS WITH 4 COMPUTERS IN EACH EMPOWERMENT AND PARTICIPATION
