What is Youth Empowerment • Youth Empowerment is a process where children and young people are encouraged to take charge of their lives without any help. • It’s aims to improve quality of life. • It is achieved through participation in youth empowerment programs. • A variety of youth empowerment initiatives are underway around the world. • Youth empowerment is different than youth development because development is centered on developing individuals, while empowerment is focused on creating greater community change relies on the development of individual capacity.

  3. Youth Empowerment Programs • Around the globe there are various empowerment programs focused on a wide variety of things and this is not a comprehensive list. Unsuccessful youth empowerment programs have not been carefully documented or published in case studies.

  4. DSS Youth Empowerment Programs • Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim started different programs for Youth Empowerment. Listed as below: • Health Delight • An Initiative • Dignified Humanism • Career Guide • Self Reliance

  5. Health Delight Educating the young generation to be health conscious by organizing different sports events and promoting mutual cooperation for a better society.

  6. An Initiative Spreading awareness on the menace of AIDS & homosexuality by arranging seminars and distributing books in schools and colleges regarding these, thus, encouraging moral values among younger generation.

  7. Dignified Humanism Counselling the youths to avoid eve/adam teasing i.e. prevent unethical behaviour.

  8. Career Guide To provide career counselling to school/college going students who are rather in dilemma to choose the appropriate career line according to their capabilities for bright future.

  9. Self Reliance Helping unemployed citizens by making them independent through self employment or finding a job.
