7. Munitions of war, Weapons and Dangerous Goods These Regulations apply to all aircraft operating within Ireland, regardless of nationality, and to all Irish-registered aircraft worldwide. Munitions of War • It is illegal to supply or load Munitions of War (weapons, ammunition etc) on to an aircraft. • It is illegal to carry Munitions of War on an aircraft UNLESS • The aircraft is registered abroad and • The Munitions of War on board are allowed by the State where the plane is registered and • They are carried to ensure the safety of the aircraft and the people on board No firearms can be carried on board an Irish-registered aircraft by passengers or crew unless: • They are stored out of reach of the passengers e.g. in the hold and • Firearms are not loaded.
7. Munitions of war, Weapons and Dangerous Goods Dangerous Goods Anything, alone or in combination, that may endanger the aircraft , equipment or people on board may not be carried unless: • Carriage by air is approved by the IAA, • and/or carriage in a specific type of aircraft. • The packaging of the goods is approved (IATA Regulations) • The goods are carried by the operator to ensure the safety of the aircraft and people on board (e.g. deicing fluids, oxygen cylinders)
