  1. ABSTRACT FORMULATION OF MANITOL BASED GREEN TEA EXTRACT LOZENGES PREPARED BY WET GRANULATION METHOD ( The Influence of HPMC 2910 3cP Concentration as Binding Agent on Physical Characteristics of Tablet ) The objective of this study was to determine the effect of HPMC 2910 3cP concentration as tablet binder on physical performance of green tea extract lozenges with manitol base especially hardness, friability, and dissolving time. The tablets were prepared by wet granulation method using three different concentrations of HPMC 2910 3cP, 1 % ( F 2 ), 3 % ( F 3 ), and 5 % ( F 4 ). The granules had good moisture content value but not acceptable result on flow properties. The granules were compresed with a pressure of 2 tons for 3 seconds and the diameter of the die was 13 mm. The tablets were evaluated for hardness, friability, and dissolving time. All tablets formulation showed acceptable results on hardness and friability test, but just F1 and F2 were acceptable on the dissolving time test. Statistical analysis using SPSS Version 11.5 suggested that increasing of HPMC 2910 3cP concentration would increase hardness, less friability, and increased dissolving time of the green tea extract lozenges. The most optimal concentration of HPMC 2910 3cP was 1 %. Keywords : Green Tea Extract, HPMC 2910 3cP, Manitol, wet granulation
