  3. CHS CREDITS FOR GRADUATION • 4 ENGLISH • 3 MATH • 3 SCIENCE – BIOLOGY, PHY SCIENCE, AND ELECTIVE • 3 SOCIAL STUDIES – W.STUDIES, W.HISTORY, US HISTORY, GOVT • 1 PE and 1 FINE ART • 10 ELECTIVES • MUST PASS ADVISORY/SEMINAR FOR EVERY SEMESTER ENROLLED AT CHS

  4. CREDIT REMINDERS • STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE 25 CREDITS TO GRADUATE FROM CHS • SEMINAR CREDIT DOES NOT COUNT TOWARDS THE 25 BUT IS REQUIRED FOR GRADUATION • IF STUDENTS ARE MISSING CREDITS, THEY MUST BE RECOVERED PRIOR TO MAY 1, 2014

  6. FALL GRADE CHECKS ISSUED DURING 5TH WEEK AND 9TH WEEK FINAL GRADES FOR THE FALL WILL BE ISSUED WEEK OF JANUARY 7. THESE GRADES WILL BE ON YOUR FINAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT. SPRING GRADE CHECKS ISSUED DURING 5TH WEEK AND 9TH WEEK FINAL GRADES FOR THE SPRING WILL BE SET BY MAY 14 (4 PM) TRANSCRIPTS WILL BE READY IN EARLY JUNE. PROGRESS REPORTS

  7. ACADEMIC SUPPORT • TUTORING PROGRAM AVAILABLE TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY FROM 3:10 PM – 4 PM IN ROOM C16 • TEACHERS ARE THE BEST RESOURCES WE HAVE. STUDENTS NEED TO COME IN BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL. MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH YOUR TEACHER IN ADVANCE.

ALL SCHOOL TEST DAY: SEPT. 26 9TH-11TH GRADE STUDENTS WILL BE TESTING SENIORS WILL BE PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE • ORDER GRADUATION SUPPLIES • GROUP PICTURE $17, INDIVIDUAL PICTURE $10, USED FOR YEARBOOK AND CLASS PANEL • REALITY U: WHAT WILL LIFE BE LIKE IN 10 YEARS? • BREAKOUT SESSIONS: LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL

  9. GRADUATION SUPPLIES • ORDER WILL BE PLACED WITH JOSTENS ON SEPTEMBER 26, STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE THEIR PACKETS DURING ADVISORY ON SEPTEMBER 16. • $60.00 DEPOSIT RECOMMENDED • BILL WILL BE MAILED TO YOU IN JANUARY 2014 • DELIVERY OF SUPPLIES IN MARCH

FALL SEMESTER HIGHLIGHTS • ALL STUDENTS IN A FULL FALL SCHEDULE • DISCUSSION OF SECOND SEMESTER SCHEDULE IN OCTOBER, SOME STUDENTS WILL ELECT TO TAKE SENIOR PASSES OR COMMUNITY SERVICE SEMINAR. • BEGIN COLLEGE PAPERWORK, TAKE THE ACT, APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS • SCHEDULE COLLEGE VISITS – 3 COLLEGE DAYS

  11. SPRING SEMESTER HIGHLIGHTS • AVOID SENIORITIS • FOCUS ON WORK NEEDED TO ACHIEVE THE HIGHEST GRADES POSSIBLE – GPA COUNTS • TAKE ACT AGAIN IF NEEDED • FILL OUT COLLEGE PAPERWORK • MAKE MAJOR DECISIONS ABOUT LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL

NCAA CLEARINGHOUSE • Students considering competing in athletics at the NCAA Division I or II level must be registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse. • www.eligibilitycenter.org • Students registering or wanting information on how to register need to check with the counseling office. • NAIA and NJCC also have clearinghouses.
