  3. What you need to know about your degree Everyone will graduate with a General Management MBA degree. Your diploma will indicate Masters of Business Administration. Each student will have the choice to declare a concentration. Your transcript will list the concentration if you choose to declare. You may complete two concentrations and they will both show on your transcript. (If you want to declare two, please meet with Michele or Carlane after you have heard the details on the 22nd)
  4. Concentration Declaration We will describe concentrations in detail on Monday, August 22. You will be sent a survey to declare your concentration. Using a point system you will be able to indicate your CAM interest. We will also ask for your interest in Spring electives. You will receive an email with your CAM assignments and Banner registration information.

Concentration Descriptions Entrepreneurship This concentration delivers a “real-world, hands-on” curriculum of study which develops student’s understanding of the fundamentals of creating and running an enterprise. It applies equally to ‘intrepreneurship.’ 2. Consulting This concentration prepares students to succeed in a variety of consulting practices (from operations consulting to human capital consulting).  Courses in this concentration cover the gamut of stages and skills needed in a typical consulting engagement 3. Marketing Students may choose from 3 tracks in the marketing concentration—(1)B2B + B2C, (2) B2C, or (3) B2B. Particular emphasis is placed on the development of skills in branding, market analytics, segmentation and positioning, account management, and the full range of marketing mix factors.   Development and implementation of successful marketing strategies is a key aspect of this approach.
  7. Concentrations descriptions 4. Finance Concentration in Finance will help prepare students for careers in the finance function of corporations in manufacturing or service industries, commercial banking, as well as general management positions in almost any industry. 5. Health Care This is one of the fastest growing areas for employment nationwide. Students may select an (1) operational, (2) analytical, or (3) financial track within this concentration, all of which prepare students to work within the complexities of this expanding field.
  8. Concentration descriptions 6. Operations & Supply Chain This concentration helps students to analyze and manage activities in all types of businesses from the manufacturing and distribution of physical goods, to the delivery of information products and services. This background is informative to those who manage the customer-facing processes through which value is derived as well as the support or “back-office” functions. The breadth of course offerings is such that students can focus on supply chain operations, service operations , information systems, or healthcare. This background is also beneficial for consultants who advise managers how to improve these types of operations. 7. Business Analytics Business analytics can be broadly described as collecting and analyzing data to make better business decisions. This concentration exposes students to a broad array of analytic techniques that can be applied to any business from manufacturing to healthcare, finance, and marketing. Thus, this concentration can be an excellent complement to many other areas and demonstrates to potential employers that a student has the command of analytic techniques that can be employed in their industry. Indeed, it is difficult to find job candidates with both domain knowledge as well as technical skills and so those who concentrate in analytics are in high demand.
  9. Entrepreneurship This is an EXAMPLE of how the concentrations are structured. Each concentration has at least one CAM requirement, one elective requirement, and a list of recommended electives from which to choose. *= Required Some electives may not be offered every year Electives CAM I Student’s choice CAM II -Entrepreneurship* Required: Private Equity & Venture Capital* Required: ONE of the following: Corporate Finance CAM or elective Social Entrepreneurship Negotiations Financial Statement Analysis

(Batten Fund & Entrepreneurship Field Consultancy 1.5 credits – year-long course (fall- spring) LDE II (1.5 credits) – Fall only Global Business Immersion (international trips)
