  1. MYTH OR REALITY? -- GRE FORMAT CHANGED IN 2015 Graduate Record Examinations can turn out to be one of the most important tests of your educational life as it opens the doorway for a student to go ahead and get admission to many graduate schools in the United States and Canada. The GRE is a test that is owned and administered and organized by Educational Testing Service (ETS). The trial had started in 1936 by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. There have been many uproars about the changing of formats of this test since the beginning of the examinations. Still, the changes or revision of the test has occurred only in 1992, 2002, 2011, and 2012. Those were the times when significant changes had taken place in the format of the questions and the scoring system. Still, each time it changes, it creates a massive misunderstanding among the people who are willing to sit for the test. To clear those commotions, the curtain is up. As it turns out, Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) revision in the year of 2015 is nothing but a myth. The only thing that had happened in the year of 2015 is the changing back of the name of the exam from Revised GRE to only GRE. It is a restoration of the scoring system that was revised during the 2011 revision of the review. Nothing much has changed in terms of formatting that was decided in 2011. The last revision that happened to Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) was on the 1st of August 2011 and shall be conducted as per the revised pattern of 2011. The name, however, will not be Revised Graduate Record Examinations but shall be Graduate Record Examinations (GRE). The GRE

  2. was revised in 2011 to give the takers a better test experience and to measure the skills (especially the business skills) better. Therefore, it reassures the examinees to worry less if they encounter the test preparation material with this new or the old name. So, if one is updated with the changes in the exam that has happened in 2011, they need not worry about anything since apart from the name, nothing has changed. The scoring system remains the same as, Analytical writing: 0.0 to 6.0 (in 0.5-point increments), Verbal reasoning has points of 130 to 170 in 1-point increments, Quantitative reasoning also has 130 to 170 points. The validity offered by the test is five years, and the time to attempt remains 3 hours and 45 minutes. Approximately 1000 test centers in 160 countries make this test a considerable deal as well. This test also is attempted by over five hundred thousand people each year and can be given only in English. In 2020 the test will have questions on 'verbal reasoning,' 'Quantitative reasoning,' and 'analytical writing' along with a 'subject-based test.' So, if you have a bachelor's degree and are ready to 205 us dollars (relaxation for students in financial need), it is a wise choice to broaden your career opportunities. A stroke of excellent luck for the exam. Here is the link to the official website to find out the recent news about GRE: https://careeanomics.com/
