  1. Endemic and Healthcare Prosperity

  2. Why 2022 could be Covid’s final chapter and your care business’ first. 2022 commenced with eerie similarity to 2021. A new Covid variant threatened to put the NHS under unsustainable pressure, working from home appeared inescapable, and facemasks still dominated the high street and shops. Therefore, it would seem odd that there isscientific optimism for 2022, despite its early stages feeling like an echo of last year. Reduced hospital admissions, new medicines and more potent vaccines are reasons for real optimism. With most people now well vaccinated against Covid-19 and a better understanding of how to treat a positive case, infection fatality rates have fallen by over 80%. In our first blog post of the new calendar year, Care Agency Media has chosen to explore what an endemic could look like and why care business prosperity is the best it’s been in a long time.

  3. New Guidance The government no longer advises people to work from home, and face coverings are no longer necessary in school and college settings. Since January 27th, there has been no legal requirement to wear a face-covering; however, government advice is to continue to do so in enclosed spaces where you may encounter people you don’t usually meet. Additionally, venues and events will no longer be required by law to check a visitors’ NHS COVID Pass; however, you can still use it voluntarily. 2022 – Endgame? Boris Johnson recently informed parliament of new Coronavirus updates. The standouts were an end to all Plan B measures from January 26th and compulsory self-isolation for people with Covid to end on March 24th, with the possibility of this date being brought forward.

  4. New Covid treatments have just started being used in the UK and can help transform our situation. These new treatments can minimise the hospital admission risk by up to 90% and are effective against all variants. Additionally, they can be taken orally, allowing for easier distribution than vaccines. New vaccines are also in development, further enforcing our arsenal against inevitable new variants over the coming year.

  5. Global vaccination was a genuine prospect in 2022; however, this depends on the equal distribution of vaccines and new variant developments. It’s common knowledge now that Covid won’t permanently disappear, but we can now anticipate that 2022 will mark when the pandemic becomes an endemic disease. Science tells us there will still be seasonal peaks through the colder months, like with the flu, and that an annual booster jab will likely be offered to all to keep up with variants and declining immunity. Coronavirus is still very much present and threatens those in vulnerable categories, so it’s essential to remain aware of legislative updates and health advice. 2022 offers us the hope that we can now learn to live with the virus and escape the monotony of lockdowns and fear that has haunted the world for the past two years.

  6. Why You Should Start Your Care Business Now The pandemic has changed the approach to healthcare and hygiene forever. Not only is market demand a tell-tale sign, but health professionals are now better equipped than ever. With more people needing high levels of support and care, there’s never been a better time to launch your own care business. With the new scientific discoveries, vaccination status and a worldwide renewed appreciation for healthcare services, you can start a business ready to support and be compliant from day one.
