  3. Study Groups • Are you sitting with your new study group? • Let’s listen to a song, and then we will listen again and sing along.

  4. Study Group Contracts • What are willing to do to help each member of your group do to be successful this year? • Write it into the contract, shake hands on it, and then each member of the group should sign the contract.

  5. Summer Work • Don’t forget to upload it, and if you need to adjust to be sure that it is your “own voice” make the adjustment before the due date. • Be sure you developed the significance of the event as the primary part of your written work rather than the summary of the event – yes the facts of what happened are important, but their short-term or long-term SIGNIFICANCE?IMPACT are the key to understanding the historical process.

Guiding Questions and Active Reading • Let’s talk some more on these. • What is history??? • Why questions? • Why is it important to form your own questions and dialog with history as you read? • What do you need to do to answer the GQs successfully? What is excellence, above average, average, and (below average - please don’t go there). • How do these help you be successful in the course and on the APUSH exam next May
