  2. College • Competition • There is a lot of competition between students to get into topcolleges. • Money • Colleges are becoming more and more expensive. • Expectations • Colleges are expecting more and more from students.

  3. Standardized Tests • SAT • University Entrance Exam • Can take as many times as needed to earn a good score • Pressure to do well from parents and friends • Certain universities require certain scores • Ways to improve • Tutors, PSATs

  4. Fun And College Boosting • Robotics • A personal favorite of mine. We build robots and learn engineering skills. • Managerial positions = good for college. • Clubs • Tons of clubs in PV that allow us to gain community service hours and other experiences. • Sports • Sports are played to gain athletic advantage. Many sports are presented in PV. • Music • Music programs, choirs, jazz, and marching band. Many opportunities.

  5. College Anticipation • Foreign Competition • More and more, foreigners are coming into American and taking American student’s places for college. • Scholarships • Scholarships are almost necessary to help the stresses of paying for college. • Scholarships are highly sought for, making them competitive.

  6. In the end… • Stress • Seems like a lot, truthfully, it isn’t as bad as it seems • Fun • No doubt, we have a lot of fun in high school • So… • What’s it like in Taiwan?
