  7. Special Cases(Things you love to hate) • Bureaucracy • Organizations have varying schedules and expectations • SPIE organizes some meetings nearly 2 years in advance! • Conferences • Start planning at least one year in advance for meetings with international attendees

  8. So They Plan Well…(But what else do they do) • Have Goals • Work to accomplish them • Team Building Activities (Socials) • Professional Development • Communicate with SPIE staff • Use their Chapter Funding • Connect with the community (outreach) • Listen to group needs
