The consultation: objectives To reach as many people as possible across North Kirklees and Wakefield To ensure engagement with all our communities To facilitate genuine and meaningful engagement with patients and the public To generate discussion and feedback to help inform decision-making and identify solutions to issues raised.

What we’re hearing from local people • They value their local hospital • They want the people who run the local NHS to have the best interests of local people at heart • They think it’s all about the money • Longer journey times make it much harder for visitors • They think we’re not being honest about A&E • They think our proposals for A&E would put lives at risk • They are worried that the proposals don’t take account of deprivation and poor health locally
