  2. Brazil’s First Inhabitants Brazil’s first inhabitants were the Arawak and the Carib groups of the north. The Tupí-Guaraní lived on the east coast and the Amazon River valley, and the Ge lived on the eastern and southern part of Brazil, and the Pano lived in the west part of Brazil. For the most part these groups were mostly seminomadic peoples who lived by hunting and gathering and farming
