Preparation Tips • A good way to make sure you prepared for your speech is to go over your speech many times. • If you have trouble saying big words, practice them or eliminate them from your speech. • Some times using words other people understand is better than sounding sophisticated and using big words.

  5. Preparation Tips cont • Make sure you know what your going to say. Don’t just read your information of the slides. • Have little bits of what you are going to say on your slides. Then elaborate off those little bits.

Gestures and Mannerism Positive Tips Things to Avoid • Eye Contact • Proper Attire • Vocalism (be specific n clear) • Be Enthusiastic (positive attitude) • Gum Chewing • Big Gestures, small Volume • The usage of the word “Uhh” • Change in pockets • Tossing of the hair , & fiddling with objects. “Distracting Mannerisms, will take away from your presentation , as well as message”
