  1. Using the Scientific Method Designing and conducting tests for good/valid/fair results.

  2. Standards • S.IP.07.11 Generate scientific questions based on observations, investigations, and research. • S.IP.07.12 Design and conduct scientific investigations.

  3. I can…. • Use my skills of observation to wonder how and why something happens. I can then look for more information about the subject. • I can design a (scientific) test by identifying all the variables and changing only the one I need to test. ( This is a fair test) • I can observe or measure both the qualities and the quantities during the test.

  4. Create a Hypothesis= a predicted outcome to question to be tested. • IFwe think an outcome will happen then we may or may not be correct because….

  5. Identify variables/factors that may change the outcome/result. • The only one allowed to be different! • All other variables kept the same in the procedures. Test variable! Controls!

  6. Record Observations and Data • Rough to touch • Slimy • Yellow Petals • Green Stem • Male • Bow-legged • White square • Clear liquid • Distance 33cm • Height 6 ft • Width 3mm • Time 5.03 seconds • Nickel sized flower. • Mass 400 kg • Volume 2liters • Density 1.0 m/g Qualitative Quantitative

  7. Interpret data to answer the question tested question. • Construct a conclusion written to include data as your proof or disproof of the hypothesis. RQBA the questions and hypothesis inside your paragraph.
