Selah. 4 You are resplendent, More majestic than the mountains of prey. 5 The stouthearted were plundered, They sank into sleep; And none of the warriors could use his hands. 6 At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both rider and horse were cast into a dead sleep. 7 You, even You, are to be feared; And who may stand in Your presence when once You are angry? 8 You caused judgment to be heard from heaven; The earth feared and was still 9 When God arose to judgment, To save all the humble of the earth. 10 Surely your wrath against men brings you praise, and the survivors of your wrath are restrained. Definition of the word “prey The condition of the land “… I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ.” Philippians 3:8 Our phrase contains something quite unique: God is exalted as the author considered the losses – “You are resplendent, more majestic than the mountains of prey.”
There is a saying that goes like this, “Until you are sacrificial, you are artificial.” God's best is known by surrender, not struggle. Christ is not valued at all unless he is valued above all. You must keep in mind not what you are, but whose you are. CONCLUSION
