  2. Poseidon’s Origin • Poseidon is one of the most famous gods of the sea. • He is the son of Cronus and Rhea. He is one of six siblings. • His brothers and sisters include: Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, and Zeus. • When Poseidon was born, he was swallowed by his father.

Poseidon’s Myth • Poseidon was involved in a competition with the goddess of war Athena for the city of Athens. • To win, Poseidon threw a spear at the ground producing the Spring at the Acropolis. • Poseidon flooded the Attic Plain. • Athena and Poseidon worked with each other by combining their powers.
